Megophrys nasutus

A large frog of the rainforest living across South East Asia. They are known for the camouflage where they sit in ambush amongst the leaf litter. They can be heard by their loud call which is a “honk” . Breeding takes place in streams, female frogs attach the eggs to the underside of partially or full submerged rocks or logs.

Up to 12 cm
Diet:
All sorts of prey it can overpower including insects, rodents and other frogs.
Speed:
Perhaps 3 km/hr, not fast along the floor but have a quick strike to engulf their prey

Rainforest

Expert camouflage! The upper eyelids and snout form "horns" which makes this frog look just like a leaf
